Canadian Mountain Holiday (CMH) vacations are designed to offer something for everyone, from the novice hiker to seasoned climbers and mountaineers. Vacationers are transported by helicopter into spectacular country, places off the beaten path, far away from any crowds. From this starting point, CMH guests are able to hike and explore high alpine ridges, hillsides abundant with alpine wildflowers, glaciers, turquoise mountain lakes and other unique vistas the experienced guides have discovered over the years.
At day’s end, guests return home to an impressive mountain lodge for a relaxing whirlpool or sauna before enjoying a hearty meal prepared by world-class chefs and pastry specialists. The team at CMH works hard to create a relaxing family atmosphere for guests and encourages everyone to make the lodge their home during their stay.

CMH’s short, three-day Heli Hiking trips allow you to taste the wonders of the mountain wilderness with all the comforts of the Bobbie Burns and Bugaboo Lodges in the Columbia Mountains of British Columbia. The helicopter provides an easy way for you to explore a variety of sights in a short time.
CMH’s guides will show you ancient glaciers, alpine meadows, mountain ridges and lush forested valleys - on any other hiking or walking trip you'd see only one type of mountain terrain. CMH’s three-day adventures are suitable for all guests, including: families, couples, friends, solo travelers, mountaineers, hikers, trekkers, walkers and amblers.

Heli-Hiking areas
CMH offers Heli-Hiking in the Columbia's most resplendent sub-ranges: the Bugaboos and the Bobbie Burns. Each offers spectacular vistas, access to ancient glaciers, geological features, brilliant alpine lakes, wildlife and bountiful wildflowers – in essence, pristine mountain wilderness. Each of these areas can accommodate hikers of all levels of experience and fitness.

Bobbie Burns - Sub-Range
Hiking possibilities in the Bobbie Burns, named for the renowned Scottish poet, are nearly endless: deep river basins, meadows of wildflowers, icy crystalline lakes, and ancient glaciers are just some of the inspiring alpine features awaiting exploration.
Bugaboos - Sub-Range
The Bugaboos are perhaps best known for their defining majestic spires. A historic destination for climbers, the difficult access has prevented recreational hikers from entering this wondrous mountain terrain. As with CMH’s other hiking areas, lush meadows, bubbling creeks, awesome glaciers and ridge walks are just the beginning of what awaits.

Each lodge offers airy bedrooms with fully stocked private baths (even hair dryers!).

Each lodge employs both a highly-trained head chef and a pastry chef who cook with health, flavor, and presentation in mind, using fresh Western Canadian ingredients.
Each November CMH's 44 chefs and pastry chefs gather together for a four-day seminar to engage in discussions on the latest food trends. This rare opportunity to gather together with their colleagues and other industry professionals inspires our chefs to think outside the box and create the best quality food for our Heli-Hiking and Heli-Ski guests to enjoy all year long.
